Another Fun Filled Weekend!

This weekend was fun filled with lots of family! It started out Friday when us kids took Dean's mom out to dinner for her Birthday. We went to a Thai restaurant in Idaho Falls and it was really good and then we finished the night with ice cream from Reeds Dairy. Saturday was busy. Dean and I went to Salt Lake to help some friends move and then we came back and hung out with Dean's family that came from Washington for Rachel, Dean's little sister's mission farewell. Sunday was a great day full of family time. Rachel gave a great farewell talk and Donald did great on his youth talk. After church we went back to where Dean and I live, also known as Dean's uncle and aunts house. Dean and Olivia Yancy. We talked, played games, and hung out. Later that night more family came (Dean's cousins) and we hung out with them also. Below are some of pictures from the farewell of family and friends that were able to come.

The big family clan (sorry I looked over these pictures and thought everyone was looking) The picture includes Rachel in front, uncle Richard and aunt Julie on the left, behind them uncle Dean and aunt Olivia, then Dean and I, then Aunt Sharon, then Dean's mom Donna and his little brother Donald.

Family Memories

Well this last weekend Dean and I were able to travel to Boise and go to my Bryson family reunion. ( My mom's side) I should have taken more pictures and didn't always think about it. Darn! That is the only thing I regret! Dean also had a Big test to take for Edward Jones and PASSED! So he wasn't able to come to all of the events but tried to make it when he could! The first night we met at a church ate and watched old family videos. The second day we went to ROARING SPRINGS and played in the water and down all the FUN water slides! That night we went back to the church and played minute to win it! There were some great laughs! The last day we just hung out and played a big game of soft ball! I LOVED that! I had a ton of fun! I was amazed at how far the boys could hit! It was so fun to play with family! I really enjoyed myself and wish I could see all of my family more often! I just love them! What precious times! Also on this trip I was able to meet my new niece Kaitlyn I did get a few pictures of her and they are the ones below.

Dean, I, and Kaitlyn

A GREAT WEEKEND! The Fourth of July!

Well the weekend started Saturday. Dean worked in the morning and then took me on a date to a restaurant I have been wanting to try in Pocatello called Buddy's it was good. Their Pizza was AMAZING! Then we went shopping for a few more things we needed to help sale our bubble guns. (I'll get to that in a min) To end the evening we went back to Dean's aunts and lit of fireworks so Dean's mom could participate. (She worked on the Fourth). Sunday we went to church and then had a GREAT BBQ with some of our friends. Monday was a really big day. Dean and I decided to try and make a few dollars and sell something at the BIG fourth of July event on the green belt in Idaho Falls. BUBBLE GUNS! We saw these in California and thought they were really cool. They blow bubbles and light up at the same time. We did ok, but I still have a few extra if anyone is interested we are selling them for 5 dollars a piece. So... on the Fourth we got up, got all prepared and picked up a few more items from the store that we needed. Then we headed to the Greenbelt in Idaho Falls to start selling. We got settle in our little place and we were selling pretty good and then a lady asked if we payed for a spot to sell. I told her no I called the city of Idaho Falls and they said there was no charge. (I really did this by the way), and she informed me that the chamber of Congress rented all of that area and we were not allowed to sell there. So then we tried walking around the green belt to sell and we ended up sitting at our spot where we were going to watch fireworks and we sold them there. When it got darker we walked around again and sold some more. It was a good experience and it is fun to try new things. The fireworks that night were amazing! (I LOVE FIREWORKS). Afterward we headed home and got home about midnight. Below are some pictures of Dean and I on the Fourth of July, with our bubble guns!

A weekend with Friends

This last weekend (Fathers Day) Dean and I went on a get away with some friends. It was such a nice relaxing weekend with lots of fun things to do. As always trips are not fun without little surprises, like being out of power for 12 hours. I had to joke that our trip to the cabin became a real roughing it camping trip. At least our friends were prepared with flashlights and water because we didn't bring either. The story is a little fun so let me explain. Well it was about nine o-clock at night and the kids were in bed and us adults were playing the farming game when the lights flickered and the power went out. There is no phone service at the cabin so we couldn't call and tell the power company the power was out unless we drove 20 miles. So we decided to wait a few hours to see if it would come back on well about midnight when our farming game was done it still wasn't on. SO Shanna and Tyrel (our friends) headed out to town to tell the power company we had no power while Dean and I stayed behind with the sleeping children and to keep the fire going. It was really cold up at the cabin. Shanna and Ty got back about 1:30 to tell us the power company knew but they had no Idea why it was out. So we all went to bed and hoped it would be on in the morning. Well it wasn't so we ate breakfast luckily we ate the warm breakfast the morning before. At breakfast Dean said the prayer on the food and prayed the power would come back on and within the next few min.. Guess what... it came on! I told Dean he was living right! We were totally fine without power but it was so much more luxurious with it :). Below are pictures of things we did at the cabin.

We smiled, laughed, and spent time together!

We road and drove four wheelers! We loved this!

Dean, Tyrel, and baby lilly. Dean and Tyrel went to High school together, and have been great friends since!
The cabin we stayed in

We shot the 22. We also loved this!

Me posing.

Still shooting, but we also LOVED the mountains in the back ground they are gorgeous!

Dean shooting! He is a MUCH better aim then I am. I did get 3 out of 10 though. (I know nothing to brag about, but hey at least I hit it right?)

It was really cold and windy outside so we roasted marshmallows and hot dogs in the fireplace.

Teegan (our friends son) eating his roasted marshmallow.

Dean's microwaved marshmallow. We thought it looked cool!

We put together a puzzle

We watched the children so Shanna and Tyrel could go on a four wheeler ride and Teegan played angry birds.

Dean joined in and played angry birds with Teegan. (Pretty cute huh?)

The puzzle all finished!

Teegan and Tyrel "racing" (as Teegan would say)

Me and my honey!

Shanna and Teegan

The trip was a lot of fun! I love the outdoors! Thanks Shanna and Tyrel for letting us join you at the cabin!

Life Now Days

Well life as usual for most people is busy! Dean and I moved a few weeks ago to Blackfoot so I could be closer to my job and not have to drive an hour to work several times a week. Also it works good because Dean has started his job with Edward Jones and is doing his in home study program. He has put in a lot of long days! We are living with his sweet aunt and uncle, Olivia and Dean. They are awesome and have been so kind to let us stay here at there house. We really appreciate it! Other things that have been going on is Dean has currently decided to grow a beard for the summer. He said he will probably never be able to do it again with work. Which is probably true. So I decided to be a sweet wife and go along with it for the summer. ( I did worn him about the funny tan line he will probably have when we move to Arizona.) Below is a picture of Dean and his beard!

Another fun thing happened recently. My mother came up to visit me last week from Thursday to Tuesday. Time seems to fly when she is around, but I always have SO much fun with her, she is an awesome lady. I am sad I didn't get any pictures. I thought of it once but never took any. She got here later Thursday so we just talked and hung out. Friday we slept in and then went to Idaho Falls and shopped, and had lunch. That night we watched a movie and looked at quilts we want to make. (Dean's aunt makes amazing quilts.) Saturday we got up and went to a few yard sales. I got a cooler, a cookie press/cake froster, and I got Dean poker chips for when we play Texas Holdem. (don't worry we don't play with money we just play with the chips). I was SO excited though because they are SUPER nice chips and I got them for 8 DOLLARS. After the yard sales we went to the temple it was wonderful as always and then we went back home. Dean and I went to a B-day party for Dean's friend and mom stayed home to read a book. Then we got back together and hangout! Sunday we just relaxed, and Monday we ran errands. I was such a great time I love spending time with my mom! Well that is our life in a nut shell for now. Oh we will be moving to Arizona on August 3rd.

Our Big TriP! May 6th -16th 2011

Warning! This is a Very long post! :) OK here it goes. First I really should be packing to move but if I don't do this now I may not do it for awhile. So let the adventure begin! Dean and I have been planning this trip and saving for a year now. The trip started as soon as I got off work May 5th Dean and I drove to Kanab Utah and got there about 10pm and went to bed because we had to get on the road again at 5am. On our way to Arizona the Second day of the trip we saw... (the pictures below about 6am).

This little camp was right off the side of the road so we decided to stop and take a few pictures they are the ones below.

The picture below reminded me of something out of a movie it is BEAUTIFUL!

Through out this blog bare with me because on this trip there were a lot of "first times" for me so I get a little excited!

More cool pics!

Inside the little camp we found.

Outside the little camp we found.

SO I had never seen a real big cactus before and it was pretty cool. I told Dean they are like humans they come in all shapes and sizes.

The reason we went to Arizona was to find an apartment for Dean's training program in tempe and we did! We are moving in AUGUST! We will be living in Chandler at Chandler Meadows Apartments. We love them and the people. I also had never seen palm trees before so I took a picture.

A really CRAZY cactus!

After spending the weekend finding an apartment and spending time with our friends the Childs. (Thanks Amy and Chase for letting us stay with you) We headed to California for a week of fun! We started off in San Diego! All I can say is HUGE!

Dean and I on Coronado Island. Beautiful. But cold!

I LOVE THE BEACH!

My love message to DEAN!

I ABSOLUTELY love this picture of Dean! He is SO good looking! and NO it is not photoshopped!

Coronado Island was beautiful and lots of pretty homes! I do have to say though my favorite part was the sand between my toes. I could spend a whole vacation on the Beach!

The Second day in San diego we went to the zoo! It was fun and lots of cool Animals! This elephant was at the entrance!

These were in the park ;)

Can't see them but we were in a big bird cage and birds were flying above us!

The Gorillas were my favorite! There is a REALLY funny story behind them if you want to know just ask but it is too long to type.

The Third day in San diego we went to SEA WORLD. (this was my personal favorite)

First we started by watching the Sea Lions and they were my favorite because they are so interactive and they do AWESOME tricks like diving off the top of a building into a smaller pool of water!

Second we went to the Dolphin show and they were my second favorite. They do some pretty awesome things as well. I decided next time we go I am going to go swimming with them!

My favorite was when the trainer would ride on the dolphin!

They have other exhibits at Sea World and the sharks were one of them!

Last we saw the Killer whale show. Hence the Ice Cream.

All the shows were amazing I really enjoyed the day!

I am still amazed at what these animals can learn to do!
Below is a Beluga whale. I am sure I spelled that wrong.

Yes I was that close to the polar bear!

And so was Dean

On a ride at Sea World that helped us over look the city!

I did get to touch a Dolphin and I LOVED it! They feel rubbery and soft!
Before we left San diego Dean and I went to the temple. It was beautiful inside and since we accidentally got there an hour early (the internet had the wrong times) we got to explore the temple a little it was really neat!

Dean was conveniently wearing this shirt and this in Huntington Beach haha! Dean on the pier!

Dean and I at Huntington Beach. This was my favorite beach! It might have been because it was warmer. But I just loved all the little shops along the way!

Reliving my lifeguard days!

My handsome man!

Restaurant at the end of the pier!

We wanted to get a little wet and we did! Also it was pretty sweet to see the surfers here I have also never seen that!

LA and the Angles Stadium!

Yep that is the Mexican Boarder! On our way to the outlet mail we saw an exit that said last exit in AMERICA! well gratefully we got off that exit so all was good. That was until we went to the hotel! and then Dean started to head toward the boarder. We quickly realized what we did and I told Dean we couldn't go this was I didn't have our passports. He knew that so he turned around and then we were in a VERY shady part of town. I gently locked the car door and Dean agreed that was a good idea! We made it back to the hotel safe and sound!

Dean took me to in-n-out for my first time! YUM!

Then Day 4 we headed to Anaheim and this was outside of our hotel!

We went to DISNEYLAND!
First ride (it's a small world)

My favorite (Minnie)

View from the hotel!

Day 5 was California Adventures

This is at Universal Studios day 6

All the sets were awesome. I do have to say it has changed how I view movies now that I know how they are made! Pretty much everything is fake! :)

Jurassic park scene

Back to the Future!

Fast and the Furious

Jaws

Desperate House wife's

Grinch who stole Christmas

War of Worlds

The Great out Doors

Day 7 More Disneyland! We went back again the day after Universal Studios cause our pass allowed us to spend a few days here.

I got to see my princesses!

On our way home we were able to spend sometime with some friends from Dean's mission! The Matapula's

They are Samoa so they are very giving they gave us leis and a bowl dish. Dean and most of the Matapul's. When we left they sang us a sweet song :). Dean was also able to meet up with an old mission companion. Elder Hickman.
On the drive home we stay a night in Vegas and we went to M&M World! Also we saw our friends the Elkins

The trip was so fun and relaxing! Next time I wouldn't have it so packed full of activities though. Dean says his favorite part was watching me and my reactions to seeing everything for the first time! Also he liked Vegas. My favorite part was spending 10 days with Dean strait. We had a ton of fun doing the activities and we tried SO many resturants!

This last weekend we went to Oregon to visit family and us girls decided to pamper ourselves. We got pedicures we haven't done that before it was WAY fun. We joked Michelle, now she will be beautiful when she goes into labor. (she is due anytime)

My nephew Payton learned to ride his bike last week! So proud of him!

Katie's kids playing outside!
