And the Fun Continues!!!

So Dean is currently out of town on a business trip in Sun Valley, and since some of the things that have happened this week (pre-term labor) I am having my cousin Marie stay with me at night while he is gone. "well lets just say that it is a REALLY good thing because about 3:18 or so this morning I woke up in to pain again and it was coming and going...

As I was feeling the pain Marie also woke up. (I definitely know there have been many times when I or people I am with have been inspired by the spirit. I pray each night that if I need to go to the hospital I will wake up and know) I told her okay don't freak out but I think I am having contractions again so I am going to call labor and delivery and see if they think I need to come in. I called and... they wanted me to come in. So I looked at Marie and said well do you want to go on an adventure with me. So we got up, got shoes on, and headed out the door. I actually remembered my ID and insurance card this time... Marie was so cute a few minutes into the drive she asked. "Do I need to speed" I smiled and said no. So we got to the hospital and she dropped me off at the ER and went and parked. Then we went to L and D and I peed in a cup and got dress. (I have been told by a nurse not in a bad way but she thinks I am going to be one of their frequent flyers).

After I was all dressed they hooked me up to the monitors and I was having contractions and uterine activity again. So they did what they did last time. Gave me a shot of Terp, and a pill of nifedapine (which I already take around the clock, they gave me more so I would have the max possible dose). They seemed to calm down a bit but were still happening every 2 - 3.5 min apart. So I got another shot of terp and then went to ultrasound to see how long my cervix is. It was 4.8 cm and normal is 3-5 cm so it looked really good. They monitored me for a bit longer and the contractions slowed and it just seemed like there was just a little activity left so they sent me home, and I see the Doctor on Monday but if more come before then I go back in.

I had a bit of a scare this afternoon and had 8 or so in an hour. So I called my doctor and his nurse said to go to L and D but after I peed they went away so I didn't end up going in.
(I think once in a day is good enough)

So what happens if the contractions still come you ask... Well I am currently on the highest dose of nifedapine so they would try to send me home on terp in a pill form and if that doesn't keep them stopped. I will be admitted to the hospital and given Magnesium and steroid shots to mature the babies lungs. Hopefully the Magnesium will stop them because after that, there isn't much they can do. So I am crossing my fingers and my legs : )

Also he is breech and doctors said not to count on him turning so looks like I will be having a C-section which is fine. All we care about is that he gets here safe and sound. Love him SO much already!

Baby Shower!

Tuesday evening was my Baby Shower and I was spoiled. Since I was on partial bed rest all I could do was sit and sit I did. So that explains the picture below.

Pregnancy Update

Well I didn't quite make it to my doctors appointment on Monday morning. About 2:45 ish in the morning I woke up to Dean asking me if I was okay. I must have been making noises in my sleep cause I woke up in a lot of pain. I laid awake trying to determine if I was having a contraction or if I was just sore. I finally feel asleep again, I think it was 4 something. Then about 5:45 I woke up in pain. So I went to the bathroom and called Labor and Delivery and they suggested I come in cause they thought I was in fact having contractions. So I went back to my room to wake up Dean and as I was getting dressing the pain started to come and go so then I was also pretty sure I was in fact having contractions.

I got to the hospital and got all hooked up to monitors and yes I was having contractions and I thought they were about 10-15 minuets apart oh no more like 2 minuets apart. So they gave me a shot of Turp and it worked for about 30 minutes and then the contractions came back. So they gave me another shot and the same thing happened. Then they gave me a pill (Nifedapine) because it is longer acting. Some where in all of this I also had a fibernectin enzyme test done. It test for a specific enzyme in the Cervical area, if it is negative (which mine was) it means I most likely wont have the baby in the next 2 weeks, if it was positive then it is unsure and I can have him anytime. Thank goodness it was NEGATIVE! They watched and monitored me for awhile after that.

Mean while Dean was awesome and thought of an idea to play words on our phones so that it would take our minds off of things. It really did work great and made the time go by fast. After the contractions were slowed to about 15 mins apart they felt like the medication was working and that I would be able to go home on STRICT bed rest. (I can only get up to pee) and meet with my Doctor the next day. Unless I had 6 or more contractions in an hour then I had to come back in. So before I left the hospital I set up an appointment to see doctor and do a cervical lengthening ultrasound.

Well that appointment was today and it was mostly good news. My cervix is still very long and doing well. I will stay on the medicine that stops my contractions for the next 7 or so weeks hoping our baby doesn't try to make his appearance before that. They want me to try and make it to 35.5 weeks and then I can get off the meds. The baby is breach which is Very common with my condition so I will most likely have a C-section, This is because there is not very much room left for him to turn head down in my uterus. Doctor confirmed that today. In fact I posted a picture below, you will see how his foot is by his forehead, and his hand in his face because he is so squished. I feel bad for the little guy. I still have to take it very easy I have to be sitting or laying down. Unless I have to pee or do very light house work like fold laundry. To put it like the doctor said it. I have to be a bum. I can't lift more then a gallon of milk and I will go see him again in a week. The thing I was most bummed about was Dean and I were suppose to be going to Sun Valley this weekend for a work retreat, and I am no longer able to travel (I can't even go to my mom's 45 mins away). Don't get me wrong I would much rather the baby stay in and be safe, I was just looking forward to one more trip with Dean before the baby came. Sorry I don't mean to complain because I am so grateful I am pregnant and I am sure I will get to go on many more vacations with my sweetheart.
So my job now is to stay put and keep this baby cooking!

Baby boy all squished!

27 Weeks and 5 Days Pregnant, How it is going...

So I just realized I have been usually saying I am ____ weeks and 5 days, and I was usually ____ weeks and 4 days. oops.
I have really enjoyed being pregnant and it really has been a great and smooth pregnancy this far. I am hoping things aren't about to change, but I am realizing that they may.

Now for a story/explanation I have really debated writing this on my blog or just in my journal but I have decided to write it on here. Most if not all of you know this anyway. I have a condition called Uterus Didelphys. It basically means... I have 2 uterus's yes 2, I also have 2 cervix's (not sure if they are spelled right) I also had 2 vagina's but had a surgery to correct this when I was 18.

How does this change my pregnancy? Well most likely I will have a C-section because the baby will be too big to flip head down, and I will most likely have a preemie because my uterus can only get so big, although I have 2 uterus's they are not normal size they are half the size of a normal one. So this leads me to what is happening now. Like I have said I am in my 27th week, I have been having A LOT of Braxton Hicks contractions (5 or so a hour) anytime I am up or on my feet the last 3 days. So I have laid on the couch a lot. I have been told by a couple of nurses I am okay not to go to the hospital until they happen 6 an hour for and hour or 2. This happened once but I waited for the second hour because I wasn't positive one of the Braxton Hick really was one, or if I was just feeling the baby. (It was a small weak one). I didn't get that many the 2nd hour so I figured I was okay. I have been in more pain in my lower pelvic area as well. I go to the doctor tomorrow so I will see what he says and what restrictions kick it. I already knew I would have restrictions at 28 weeks, so we will see if they are the same ones or if there are more.

Though this can be quite scary, I do want to say I am so grateful to be pregnant! I love feeling him move! I am so grateful for a wonderful Husband who holds his Priesthood worthily and that he can give me a blessing when I request one. I find great comfort and strength in them! He said in the one today, something to the fact that I will be able to carry the baby until he we be able to grow healthy and strong. I am excited to go to the doctor tomorrow and find out what I need to do! I will write more when I find out more. For now though enjoy the pictures below : )

Last I just want to write a Big Thank You to Dean he is the best husband ever! Theses last few days he has cooked me a lot of meals, hung out at home with me, and cleaned a lot of house! All while I lay the couch and try to keep the Braxton Hick under control. He also stained the dresser for the baby. I apologized to him because I can't really help right now and he told me, my job was to lay on the coach and the reason  he was cleaning is so that I don't! I feel terrible that I am not helping but I am SO grateful he understands and tells me to take care of myself. It shows me just how much he loves me and his little baby boy! He is taking such good care of us! Thank you Dean, I love and appreciate you SO much!

The funs of Pregnancy!

Lately I have really enjoyed feeling this little guys move inside of me! He is no longer just kicking/punching me in little jab motions but he is rolling so it is fun to see and feel my belly roll with him. The other night he was having a party in my belly and Dean ask what the heck he was doing. I have no idea but it was a great feeling!

Last night it was fun because I had a dream about him and what he looked like. I woke up in such a great mood. I am not sure if he will look like anything I pictured. The funny things was I told Dean when I got up and he informed me that he also had a dream about him, his dream went on though, I was pregnant with twin and I didn't know and there was a boy and a girl! Hahaha good times. I just might freak out if that happened!

I love being pregnant and knowing in a few short months I will get to see and hold my precious baby!

It was great to see family and friends again. It will probably be the last time we go to Blackfoot before our little baby comes so we loved it!

Here is a Little pregnancy update. In the pictures below I believe I was about 25 weeks and 5 days. This was taken a week ago. I can NOT believe how fast time is going! Everything is going good so far. I have been having more Braxton Hicks contractions and more pain. I know this is normal but it is just interesting to see the changes in pregnancy. I go and see the doctor in a week and we will see how everything is going on the inside.

We got back from Blackfoot on Friday night because Dean and I had to both work Saturday. Then Sunday after church we headed out to my parents to spend the rest of the long weekend.

Before we headed over there Dean suggested that we take the tent and camp out on the lawn. (He knows how bad I have wanted to go camping and we don't know if we will get the chance to go before pregnancy restrictions kick in). It was so much for to camp out even it is was on my parents lawn. I LOVE to camp and I was so comfy on the air mattress and the weather was SO beautiful!

Our home away from home.

On Memorial Day my whole family, (Minus Dan on his mission) went fishing and played outside. First we started out at Bully Creek and spent most of the day there, we fished, had a BBQ, some went on a bike ride, and Brian took some of the family out on his paddle boat. It was so fun! Dean caught one fish at Bully Creek and after not having much luck there we headed up to the Owyhee Dam to do some more fishing, and Dean caught another one there. So overall it was a great day! It was fun to be around everyone and get to spend some time with Dean.
